Trash and recyclables are picked up on Wednesday morning. They should be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. Stickers for garbage must be purchased from the Village Clerk's office - $1.00/15 gal. bag, $2.00/30 gal. bag. Bags without stickers will not be picked up. There is no charge for recyclables. If a holiday falls on a Wednesday, pickup will be on Saturday. Recycle bins are available for $5.00.
COLUMBIA COUNTY SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION is located on Rte. 295 between Chatham and East Chatham. The transfer station is open Tuesday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. From Oct. 15-May 15. From May 16-Oct. 15 it is open until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday. Punch cards and a list of fees may be obtained at the Village Clerk's office. Punch cards are $15.00.
WATER/SEWER STATEMENTS are issued quarterly - January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. Bills are due within 30 days without penalty. After 30 days, a 10% penalty is assessed. After 60 days a notice of shut-off is issued. If bill is not paid by 3:30 p.m. on the day before shut-off, a $50.00 service charge is added whether or not the water is shut off.
YARD AND LEAF CLEANUP: The Village Department of Public Works assists Village residents by picking up bagged leaves and brush in the Spring.

ONLY limbs that have fallen from trees are to be put out for pickup. Leaves are vacuumed up in the Fall. They should be raked to the curb. They must not have sticks or rocks in them.
